Join Kevin McDonald for a two day, 14 hour workshop to learn the basics of how to write (and perform) a comedy sketch in the style of "Kids in the Hall" by using improv as a writing tool. This intensive takes place over two days from 10am to 5:30pm (including lunch break) on both Saturday and Sunday, September 1st and 2nd.
The class will warm up with improv games to help sharpen storytelling skills, and evolve until students are doing their own improvised scenes. Kevin will guide students to generate ideas based on the scenes improvised in class.
Small groups will further develop those scenes through a guided process of presentation and revision. Once a bank of scenes have been revised, the class will showcase those scenes in a special show at SAK on Sunday evening along with Kevin.
This intensive will improve your acting and writing skills, and will teach you how both skills work in unison to create great sketches and hilarious comedy. And if you ask him, there's a good chance Kevin will answer any questions about the Kids in the Hall. You might actually have to ask him to shut up.
