Improv for Anxiety (Workshop + Class)

Sundays from 1:00pm — 3:00pm | 6 classes: Feb 3 - Mar 10, 2019

A Wellness Based Class for the Novice Improviser

Price: $230.00 | Instructor: Chris Dinger

Improv For Anxiety is a wellness based class from SAK to help people who suffer from anxiety learn to live richer, fuller and more meaningful lives. Whether it's social anxiety, stage fright, or general anxiety, improvisation creates an ideal experiential learning environment to practice dealing with your anxiety in a totally different way. Through basic improv exercises, participants will learn to use the tools of acceptance, non-judgement, and present moment awareness to address the thoughts and feelings that can get in the way of living fully. This class examines how the stories we tell ourselves often create unnecessary suffering, and explores what we can do to bring healing to this area.

Chris Dinger, creator and instructor of this workshop is a professional performer and Executive Director at SAK. Chris is not a therapist, nor is this workshop meant to replace therapy. This workshop is an exploration of the process that helped lift Chris from a life bogged down with persistent anxiety to a life where he can feel a variety of emotions without getting trapped by them (most of the time). Stop fighting with your anxiety and learn a new way to approach the world. Let us help you begin that journey!

Important Info: This is a 6 week class. Each class is 2 hours except for the first class. The first class is a 3.5 hour workshop that lays down important foundational instruction to set the stage for the remaining 5 weeks. This class will run from February 3rd through March 10th.
